I am sure most people will skip reading everything and jump right here, ill keep it simple. If you are new to an RB20 or just want a super easy upgrade that will pep up the car, get a OEM RB25 Turbo and run it a 12 psi. Literally bolt on in every way, you can even run a factory ecu with no tune. Run it at 12 psi on a manual boost controller and enjoy beating the snot out of your RB20 at ~225 hp.
The most popular turbos seem to be the Garrett G25-550 and the GTX2867R Gen II. The G25-550 has proven itself to be a great pairing for an RB20 engine and gets you to that 375-400hp mark. Personally I would stick with a Garrett GTX2860R for an incredibly responsive set up or the G25-550 for a little more power without sacrificing spool. If you must go crazy (and build the engine to support it) the G25-660 seems to be a great pick for 400+ hp. Anything beyond that you are in for massive amounts of lag and not a fun car to drive and enjoy. Its all about personal preference so look at the data and decide for yourself!

"The back to back tested was carried out on my built rb20 with a auto trans, red line is 262 duration cam and pink line is the 280 duration cam, you can see the trade off in the lower rpm and higher rpm between the both, I personally think the 280’s were better on my set up it revs 9000rpm being street/darg set up it can breath more freely in the higher rpms where rb20’s like to be, same boost levels and ramp rate on the dyno and timing full back to back, hopefully this helps you with your cam choices of duration with your rb20 builds"
